NFPA hosts 2015 Fire Sprinkler Initiative Summit in Phoenix

Western U.S. and Canadian safety advocates witnessed the speed of today's home fires during NFPA's Fire Sprinkler Initiative Summit in Phoenix, October 13-14. The event linked advocates with crucial information and resources in the push for increased education on and requirements for home fire sprinklers. Kicking off the event was a live burn/sprinkler demonstration narrated by Jim Ford (pictured above), fire marshal with the Scottsdale, Arizona, Fire Department. Key topics covered during the summit's day of presentations included effective legislator outreach, why home fire sprinklers are good for business, and how Ford's town developed a sprinkler ordinance that's been on the books since 1986.
